Summer School
Take your game to a new level at our Table Tennis Summer School!
Having been established for over 20 years, the Cooke and Deaton Summer School looks forward to offering you the opportunity to experience some of the best and most up to date coaching techniques. The course is unique in that it caters for all standards and provides high level sparring, as well as the chance to test and improve your skills at multiball, a training technique used by all National and International squads. There will be tournaments throughout the week with quality prizes presented at the end of the course.
With lots of other loyal participants, who return year after year, to improve their Table Tennis skills and enjoy the social side of Summer School life, we look forward to welcoming you on the camp.
The course will be held at Grantham College, which is easily accessible close to the A1. The college offers comfortable en-suite accommodation with parents / guardians also welcome to stay at a reduced rate. The accommodation is available and recommended on each of the Sunday evenings prior to the course with breakfast included at no extra cost. All meals are inclusive and are served on the premises. Special diets are catered for on request.
The sports hall, which is within walking distance of the accommodation, comprises of 18 top class International Butterfly tables. As part of the course each player will receive their own player profile, which is an analysis of their game put together by our team of coaches, as well as the opportunity to film their 1-2-1 session with their own equipment. A selection of tripods are provided to cater for most phones and tablets, but please feel free to bring your own if you wish. In addition, we have a shop available daily on-site, offering a wide range of table tennis equipment with great bargains, ensuring players have access to the best quality gear for their practice sessions.
Social Activities
At the end of each day of training, the evenings provide an opportunity to relax and socialise with the coaches, staff and your course-mates. Evening entertainment includes a barbecue and quiz night, a private cinema screening at the Grantham Savoy, an awards evening complete with talent show and the very popular Coaches Tournament with audience participation in the One Point Challenge.
A licensed bar is open for over 18s.
